WSJ Japan 2015 – 1st High Lane Scouts will be represented!

16 November 2013

Huge congratulations to Adam and Lucy Keyworth and Adam Desforges who have been successful in their application to join the GME Contingent to go to the 23rd World Scout Jamboree in Japan in 2015. Adam, Lucy and Adam recently attended a selection weekend at Linnet Clough where their every move was scrutinised by the trip leaders. There were 129 applicants for 36 places across the whole County and High Lane Scouts is being represented by THREE young people. We’re incredibly proud of them. Now the hard work begins to raise the money to fund the trip. We hope you’ll all help them to realise their ambitions to represent our amazing Scout Group on the world stage! I’d also like you to recognise the fact that Katie Holme also applied and although she wasn’t successful, she gave it her best shot. I suspect her relative lack of camping experience may have played a large part in the decision but I’m proud of her for giving it a go. Well done to all of you.
